Salman Khan Trains in Low-Oxygen Conditions for Upcoming War Drama Based on Galwan Valley Clash

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is leaving no stone unturned for his upcoming war drama, which is reportedly based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. Known for his dedication to physically demanding roles, Salman has now taken his commitment a notch higher by training in simulated low-oxygen environments to prepare for the film’s high-altitude setting.

    A Tribute to the Bravehearts

The film, yet to be titled officially, is said to be a tribute to the Indian soldiers who displayed unmatched courage during the Galwan Valley confrontation in Ladakh. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kabir Khan, the project marks another collaboration between the director and Salman after their blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015).

Sources close to the production reveal that the script is deeply emotional, patriotic, and grounded in real events, aiming to portray the soldiers’ valor with authenticity and respect. Salman plays the role of a battle-hardened commanding officer leading a unit through the harrowing conflict in the inhospitable terrain of the Himalayas.

    High-Altitude Training Regimen

To authentically portray the physical strain and endurance required of soldiers stationed in extreme altitudes, Salman has been undergoing rigorous training in low-oxygen simulated chambers. These chambers mimic the thin air and low atmospheric pressure found in high-altitude regions such as Galwan, which sits at over 14,000 feet.

“He’s been training in conditions that simulate up to 15,000 feet above sea level,” a crew member confirmed. “The idea is to build endurance and understand how the body and mind react under such conditions, just as our jawans do.”

Additionally, Salman has reportedly adopted a specialized high-protein diet and is working with military consultants to perfect his body language, tactical movements, and emotional depth.

    Shoot Locations and Production

The film is slated to begin shooting in July 2025, with key sequences to be filmed in real high-altitude terrains of Ladakh and Spiti Valley. The production team is also constructing a replica of a forward army base for indoor sequences.

In line with the government’s push for patriotic cinema and narratives honoring the armed forces, the Ministry of Defence is believed to have extended full support to the film’s production.

    An Emotional Commitment

Salman Khan, speaking briefly at a recent press interaction, said, “This isn’t just another film. It’s a responsibility. These are real heroes, and we’re just trying to tell a part of their story. I want to give it everything I’ve got.”

The film is expected to release around Republic Day 2026, aiming to evoke national pride and offer audiences a gripping yet respectful portrayal of one of the most significant military stand-offs in recent Indian history.
