Operation Sindoor, a civil society-led movement launched in early 2024, aims to address women’s health issues, tackle gender-based violence, and enhance rural outreach through collaborative efforts with local governments, NGOs, and health workers. The initiative has gained nationwide traction, particularly in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam.

A recent pilot in Bundelkhand reportedly led to a 38% increase in maternal health check-ups, while a campaign in Assam saw 12 villages declare themselves “violence-free zones” under community-driven monitoring.
Government Collaboration in Focus
Officials familiar with the preparations say that the delegation hopes to receive the Prime Minister’s endorsement for a broader rollout of Op Sindoor as a public-private partnership.
