Aamir Khan Clarifies ‘Mahabharat’ Isn’t His Final Film Amid Retirement Buzz

adminBy adminJune 12, 20252 Mins Read

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially addressed the swirling rumours suggesting that his upcoming ambitious project Mahabharat would mark the end of his acting career. The actor, known for his meticulous choice of roles and impactful storytelling, clarified that while Mahabharat is a deeply personal and significant project for him, it is not his swan song.

Speaking at a recent media interaction, Aamir said, “I’ve heard people saying I’m retiring after Mahabharat. That’s not true. I may take breaks to focus on my other interests, but I’m not leaving cinema. It’s my passion and my lifeline.” His statement comes as a relief to fans who were concerned that the actor was planning to bow out after what he has often referred to as his “dream project.”

The speculation gained traction after Aamir took a hiatus following the lukewarm response to his last film Laal Singh Chaddha. During that period, he hinted at dedicating the next few years to developing Mahabharat, even contemplating releasing it as a multi-part epic. This fueled retirement rumours, especially after he stepped away from acting commitments and avoided public events for a while.

However, Aamir’s latest clarification confirms that Mahabharat is simply the beginning of a new creative chapter, not the end. He stated, “I’m putting a lot of thought and energy into Mahabharat because I want to get it right. It’s a story that deserves grandeur, authenticity, and emotion. But once it’s done, there are still many stories I want to tell as an actor and producer.”

Industry insiders reveal that Mahabharat is currently in its pre-production stage, with Aamir collaborating with a team of writers, historians, and VFX experts to ensure historical accuracy and cinematic brilliance. While no official casting or release date has been announced, the buzz surrounding the film continues to grow.

Fans, meanwhile, are rejoicing over Aamir’s reassurance. Social media platforms have been flooded with messages like “The perfectionist is not going anywhere!” and “Glad to know Mahabharat is just another milestone, not the final one!”
