    A New Chapter for CID

Shivaji Satam, who portrayed the much-loved and authoritative ACP Pradyuman since the show’s inception in 1998, has officially stepped away from the role, citing personal reasons and a desire to make way for a new generation. His portrayal became synonymous with the series, and his iconic lines like “Daya, darwaza tod do!” are etched in the memories of millions.

With the return of CID slated for later this year, the creators were keen to retain the essence of the show while also introducing a contemporary edge to appeal to younger viewers. That’s where Parth Samthaan enters the picture.

    Parth Samthaan’s Bold Transformation

Known for his roles in romantic dramas like Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Parth Samthaan’s transition to a serious, action-oriented role has already generated a buzz in the industry. Speaking about his new avatar as ACP Aryan Verma, Parth shared:

“It’s an honour to be part of a show that has such a rich legacy. Stepping into the shoes of an ACP after someone like Shivaji sir is no easy task. But I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to the team and connect with a whole new audience.”

Sources close to the production reveal that Parth’s character will be portrayed as a tech-savvy, sharp-witted officer who believes in psychology-driven investigation methods, contrasting the traditional approach of ACP Pradyuman.

The Team Returns — With a Twist

While Parth will lead the team, familiar faces like Inspector Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava) and Inspector Daya (Dayanand Shetty) are expected to return, helping bridge the gap between the old and the new. The revamped format will also include high-octane action, complex cases inspired by real-life events, and a deeper look into the personal lives of the officers.

The show’s creators have promised to maintain the essence of CID while giving it a more cinematic and modern feel. “It’s not just a reboot, it’s a reinvention,” a source from the channel stated.
