PM Modi Praises IPL Phenom Vaibhav Suryavanshi at Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar

adminBy adminMay 5, 20252 Mins Read

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the young athletes at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 in Bihar, took a moment to acknowledge and praise the sensational rise of Indian Premier League (IPL) phenom Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The Prime Minister lauded the young cricketer not just for his electrifying performances on the field, but also for serving as an inspiration to aspiring athletes across the nation.

Addressing a packed stadium in Patna, PM Modi said, “Today, I want to recognize a young star who has captured the imagination of the entire country – Vaibhav Suryavanshi. His journey from grassroots cricket to the IPL has ignited hope in millions. He represents the spirit of new India – confident, fearless, and committed.”

Suryavanshi, a 20-year-old batting prodigy who shot to fame in the ongoing IPL 2025 season with his consistent match-winning knocks, has become a household name due to his composure under pressure and aggressive stroke play. Representing the Mumbai Titans, he has been one of the top scorers of the season and is already being touted as a future star for the Indian national team.

PM Modi emphasized that Vaibhav’s story is a testament to the importance of sports infrastructure and youth development programs. “Vaibhav’s rise is also a result of the systems we’ve built through initiatives like Khelo India. When the youth get opportunities and facilities, they shine on the biggest stages. That is the vision behind Khelo India,” he added.

The crowd erupted with applause as Modi connected Vaibhav’s success to the broader mission of youth empowerment and national pride through sports. He encouraged the young athletes present to draw inspiration from such figures and remain dedicated to their disciplines.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who hails from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, had earlier credited the Khelo India initiative for giving him early exposure and training. His story of perseverance, practice, and performance has resonated deeply with young fans and players across the country.

As the Khelo India Youth Games continue in full swing, Modi’s endorsement of Suryavanshi serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of sports in India’s evolving youth narrative.
